What's wrong with the Pope??
Dixie Chicks or Dixie Chickens??

The latest message from the Pope states that the coalition forces invading Iraqi 'have a grave responsibility before God". I don't remember the Pope speaking out against Saddam when the Iraqi military bombed the Kurdish civilians with nerve gas in the north or later when Saddam's military were killing the Marsh people in the southern regions of that nation. It seems very easy for him to sit in the Vatican and wave his wand of judgement on the United States, but kept silent when a sick minded unstable evil dictator killed and tortured innocent people. I wonder why the Pope can crucify the coalition for their actions but can give no alternative viable solution to war. Diplomacy in general has failed horribly in recent history. While that does not give nations the right to go to war, we have evolved far enough in mankind to no longer have to put up with evil dictators such as Saddam and his torturing evil ways. I don't want to completely bash the Catholic church here, but I think they have enough of their own problems to worry about instead of trying to get involved with international affairs. The complete denial and vast cover-up of their numerous clergy sexual assaults will have a 'grave responsibility before God".
Well I learned another interesting factoid about Natalie Maines(lead singer of Dixie chickens). She publicly bashed Toby Keith's patriotic song " The Angry American " calling it a ignorant song and only ignorant people would listen to it. That before she made comments against President Bush, expressing how embarrassed she was that he was from Texas. The interesting thing about her comments and President Bush is she made them over in London. I would love to see her get up on stage in Texas or any other town in the good old USA and make those same anti-war, anti-Bush comments. Also I have seen Toby Keith sing that song for the troops, so I guess our troops are all ignorant as well? Since they all seemed to be enjoying the song. Of course recently she has started to back peddle on her statements, saying she made those statement about President Bush out of stress. It's a shame she is so spineless she has to back peddle on comments to try to do damage control. I can see her PR guy yelling at her now, especially in the light of the fact that 7 out of 10 Americans support the war and the troops. The sad thing is the troops assure all of us of free speech and she is able to make such absurd comments only because we are willing to fight for those freedoms. I wonder if in time we will see a new lead singer for the Dixie Chickens or if they will just fade into oblivion on their own. It's a shame because America and all of our opportunities that America has to offer made her and her cohorts rich. Seems kind of silly to bite the hand that feeds you.
