UPDATE 11/02
What can I say? I am not surprised. This website has been in existence since 2000 and is really just a small little spec in the large scheme of the world wide web, I have ran and maintained other websites in the past, one particular website was a fairly decent high traffic site that pulled in a large number of hits every day of the week. This site by comparison has such a low traffic volume that I have often thought of taking it down. But it seems every time those thoughts enter my head someone contacts me and lets me know they really enjoyed the site or something on the site has touched them in a certain way. I really enjoy getting those emails and I think its Gods way of letting me know that though its a very small contribution to the Kingdom it's needed nonetheless. You ask what I am not surprised about? I will be happy to tell you, since I have posted the Pornography pages I have gotten more email from men struggling with this addiction then all the other email combined in the last 2 years. Keep in mind this site is extremely small and I dont think its even listed on most search engines, and its text based, which means most people find it uninteresting, but the small amount of traffic it does generate the one topic that has hit a nerve more than any other has been the pornography topic.
That makes me sad and happy all at once, happy because people are contacting me and I am able to offer support and prayer to beat this bondage, to take back their lives, and to win a spiritual battle with Christ, sad because I know that many churches and bible groups sweep this type of thing under the rug. Its not talked about, its uncomfortable. Probably not even a stretch to imagine that there is a large number of leaders within the church that might even be involved in it themselves. How many people have the guts to stand up and ask their fellow brothers and sisters in the church to pray for them to beat a pornography addiction? Who wants to be labeled a 'pervert', or a 'sicko', or any other label someone might want to try and place on you. The thing is I know many people who are addicted are NOT 'perverts', its a strong bondage, it wraps around your thoughts like a weed, slowly tightening its grip on your life, you become almost immune to it, you have to view more and more just for it to do anything for you, it's no problem if Gods not speaking to you in your life about it, but once He starts trying to 'prune' it out of your life thats where the struggle begins. Its a huge problem, and many leaders within the Church either dont know how to deal with it or maybe don't even realize the large scope of this problem. All I have to do is take this website for example, in 2 short months I have already had people reach out to me for prayer and support, you can see the pain and struggle in their emails.
I am here for you Brothers. I will pray for you, and I will support you in any way that I can. You dont have to be embarrassed with me, you dont have to worry about me judging you, just let me pray for you, let me go to the altar of Christ with you and plead with our merciful God to break you free from this bondage. To send this bondage back where it came from, from the father of lies.
Also lets pray for all those that need help in this area will find it, lets pray that God raises up strong understanding ministries within the church that will help the people who need it, who want to flush this out of their lives.
I just wanted to write this little update to let you know you are not alone. I know many people who are reading these words right now have been directed here by the spirit of God, its no coincidence, either you have been dealing with this, or you should be, but either way Christ wants to help you out of the darkness and into the light. There is no better time than now to start breaking those habits and moving on with your life, there is no better time to start being self-controlled, to reach out to God and ask for strength, you CAN and WILL break free.
